The inaugural International Bank took place at Orvis Innis Fishery in Cornwall on October 20th with four teams of 6 anglers from England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales competing. The match was fished to Fips Mouche Rules with 2 sessions, morning and afternoon, with each angler fishing on 4 pegs in each session. England started the match as hot favourites with a team consisting of many of the top small water bank anglers in the country. Simon Robinson and England's Captain, Fred Bainbridge set the early pace in the individuals taking 8 and 7 fish respectively to take first and second individual places in the morning session Ireland's Darren Haggan and Neill Baillie were 3rd and 4th Scotland's Mike Cordiner was 5th while Wales' top rod was Peter Thurnall in 11th place with 2 fish. The morning results however showed Ireland were in the lead at the lunch break. Although England had more fish, Ireland had caught more consistently as a team and took the lead by 8 place points.
In the afternoon England put in another excellent performance to again take the top 2 individual places with Andrew Scott winning the afternoon session with 5 fish.
 Simon Robinson put in another consistent performance despite the pressure of leading at half time to take 4 fish and claim second place. Ireland's lady angler Julie Gerry took 3rd place with 3 fish.

England's Chris Micallef performed excellently in the difficult afternoon session to take 3 fish and 4th place. Fred Bainbridge and Peter Appleby had taken vital fish whilst young Glen Appleby battled bravely throughout without any real luck on difficult pegs. All of the England Team followed the team plan of fishing various App's bloodworm patterns slowly on floating lines, which had been the most consistent method they found during practice. At the end of the afternoon session, it was clear that England had caught more fish than the other teams, but it was anyone's guess whether if it was enough to overtake Ireland.One thing was for sure it was going to be very close as both teams had one blank in the afternoon. Special thanks should also go to Robbie Bell who acted as England's Competition Day Manager playing a "Colin Montgomerie Ryder Cup Manager Type Role" keeping all of his team updated during the day.
At around 8pm the results were announced and England had taken the Team Championship by 7 clear place points. Simon Robinson was the individual winner with 3 place points with the next 3 individual placings all taken by Irish anglers. The largest fish trophy was won by Scottish Angler with a 50cm rainbow. Paul Page who was the main organiser for the event and he, CEFF Chairman Baz Reece and Moc Morgan presented the winners' trophiesAt the Evening Dinner It was announced that the 2011 Championship will be hosted by Ireland and it is now clear that the new Bank International will be an ongoing event fully supported by all
4 countries.
The facilities provided at Innis Fishery by David and Theresa Hooper were excellent, as was the accommodation and food at the International HQ at the Carvynick Country Club. All of the teams fished the competition in the best traditions of flyfishing and the Evening International Dinner was a great success.
By winning the event, Simon Robinson has now completed a unique hat-trick of having won all 3 Senior Individual Home international Titles in Loch Style, Rivers
(twice) and now Bank Championships. He also was Individual Youth International Loch Style Champion back in 1994.
